3. Social awareness
The ability to identify and understand the emotions of others.
4. Relationship skills
The ability to keep and maintain healthy positive relationships.
5. Responsible decision making
The ability to make good choices.
What are examples of social emotional learning?
There are many social-emotional learning examples. But for answering the question I am using here three of them.
- Talking about emotions
- Daily greetings
- Giving responsibilities
SEL growth mindset
If we look at the general base of improving our mindset than we are sure that we will require the five components of SEL listed above.
For a person who wants to have a growth mindset having these core components of social-emotional learning are must.
Without having social emotional learning it is impossible to think about growth mindset.
Therefore, from this assumption I can safely say that growth mindset is social emotional learning.
Is growth mindset a SEL? conclusion
From these facts I came to the conclusion that Yes, growth mindset is a SEL. We used the components of SEL to check whether growth mindset is a SEL.
